Star Magazine issued an apology to Katie Holmes

Star Magazine has issued an apology to Katie Holmes because of a recent headline about the actress.stating it "did not intend to suggest that Ms. Holmes was a drug addict or was undergoing treatment for drug addiction."   Holmes had been seeking more than $50 million in damages after Star ran a January magazine cover that screamed  "Katie DRUG SHOCKER!"    Though the monetary terms of the settlement are confidential, American Media said it is making "a substantial donation" to Dizzy Feet Foundation, a non-profit charity on Holmes’ behalf that helps underprivileged youngsters realize their dreams of becoming professional dancers and to support, improve, and increase access to dance education in the United States.    “I’m pleased that this lawsuit could be resolved amicably and accept American Media’s apology,” Holmes said in a statement. “With this dispute out of the way, I look forward to once again focusing my attention on my family and career.”   Adds Holmes’ attorney Aaron Moss, “American Media did the right thing by apologizing to Katie, but this is a story that should never have been published in the first place.  Her lawsuit should serve as a lesson to other tabloids that if they print false and defamatory stories about Katie, she will stand up for her legal rights.”

Baby One More Time :Britney Spears

The 29-year-old pop star is currently enjoying success with her seventh studio album Femme Fatale, with 2011 shaping up to be a monumental year for her.

The star famously suffered some personal struggles back in 2008, when her bizarre behaviour and hospitalisations caused her to be placed in a conservatorship. Stylist and director William Baker worked on Britney’s 2009 Circus tour, and claims he had nothing but respect and admiration for her.

“She was really nice, no crazy moments. I mean, she’s a trooper isn’t she?” he told the British edition of OK! magazine.

William, whose other famous clients include Australian songstress Kylie Minogue, admits he is often drawn to working with UK stars because they are so much fun. He finds the showbiz industry in America to be far more straight-laced.

“It’s very different working in America – it’s a lot more serious,” he explained.

“When you work with most Brits you can have a laugh, but in America it’s proper business.”
Britney Spears is suddenly a player in the remix game, first dropping in on Rihanna’s “S&M” (which instantly sent that song back to the top of the Billboard Hot 100) and now hosting both Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj on a reworked version of “Till The World Ends.”
Spears premiered the song at her own site and tweeted the single’s cover art. You can listen to their three-way take here.
While Keha’s contribution is generally ignorable—besides the fact that she, know, c0-wrote the track in the first place—Minaj’s cartoonish rap at the top doesn’t jibe very well with the rest of the song’s razor-sharp cool. It’s as though Minaj is rapping on a different song that you have to get through in order to get to the real song.
Of course, any version of “Till The World Ends” is going to work with the “whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-ohs” in there, and this will certainly give Spears and Minaj an excuse to be onstage together when the two go on tour this summer.

Showbiz : Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have had a rough year, but things are finally looking up for the New York-based couple.

After all, just months after Douglas(66), beat stage 4 throat cancer, his wife announced she was seeking treatment for bipolar II disorder in April.
"After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check into a mental health facility for a brief stay," her rep told Us Weekly in a statement. "She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films."
During a Tuesday interview with Oprah Winfrey, Douglas said that his health problems were "very hard" on his wife. Adding to Zeta-Jones' woes, "My son is in federal prison, my ex-wife is suing me. . .it's kind of hard for the wife to say that she's depressed."
During his own treatment, Douglas said he didn't want "a lot of fuss and attention," and Zeta-Jones, 41, reacted similarly. "She's Welsh," he explained. "The Welsh, it's all stiff upper lip and not letting your feelings show."
Now that he's cancer free, Douglas says his wife, whom he wed in 2000, has finally been able to "relax."
"She's great. She's shooting a movie down in Louisiana, and I think she's relieved she has a better understanding " he told the talk show host, 57.
(In addition to filming Playing the Field with Dennis Quaid and Uma Thurman, Zeta-Jones recently signed on to appear in the big screen adaptation of Rock of Ages.)
With the worst now behind them, Douglas told Winfrey he's gained a new lease on life. "I know that I'm much, much closer to my friends and family," he said while tearing up. "I have a much deeper appreciation of my family and  friends.

Showbiz hot Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff !!!!!

American's showbiz actresses was born Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff on April 3, 1922, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her parents divorced while she was still a child and she lived with her mother. Like most little girls, Doris liked to dance. She aspired to become a professional ballerina, but an automobile accident that crushed a leg ended whatever hopes she had of dancing on stage. It was a terrible setback, but after taking singing lessons she found a new vocation, and began singing with local bands. She met trombonist Al Jorden, whom she married in 1941. Jorden was prone to violence and they divorced after two years, not long after the birth of their son Terry. In 1946, Doris married george weidler but this union lasted less than a year. Day's agent talked her into taking a screen test at Warner Bros. The executives there liked what they saw and signed her to a contract (her early credits are often confused with those of another actress named Doris Day, who appeared mainly in B westerns in the 1930s and 1940s). In 1948 she war first starring movie role Romance on the High Seas. The next year, she made two more films, My Dream is Yours in 1949. And It’s a Great Feeling On Same Year. Audiences took to her beauty, terrific singing voice and bubbly personality, and she turned in fine performances in the movies she made (in addition to several hit records). She made three films for Warner Bros. in 1950 and five more in 1951. In that year, she met and married Martin Melcher, who adopted her young son Terry, who later grew up to become Terry Melcher, a successful record producer. In 1953, Doris starred in Calamity in 1953, which was a major hit, and several more followed:Lucky Me in 1954,Love Me And Leave Me in 1955,In the Next Year 1956 The Man Who Too Much and what is probably her best-known film, Pillow Talk in 1959. She began to slow down her film making pace in the 1960s, even though she started out the decade with a hit, Please Don’t Eat the Daisies 1960.
Her husband, who had also taken charge of her career, had made deals for her to star in films she didn't really care about, which led to a bout with exhaustion. The 1960s weren't to be a repeat of the previous busy decade. She didn't make as many films as she had in that decade, but the ones she did make were successful. Do Not Disturb in 1965, The Glass Bottom Boat in 1966.Where were you When the lights went out in 1968 and With Six you Get Eggroll in 1968.Martin Melcher died in 1968, and Doris never made another film, but she had been signed by Melcher to do her own TV series," The Doris Day Show in 1968.That show, like her movies, was also successful, lasting until 1973. After her series went off the air, she made only occasional TV appearances. Today, she runs the Doris Day Animal League in Carmel, California, which advocates homes and proper care of household pets.
